Gelatin sticks found near the venue of Prime Minister Modi’s event; Suspect in custody
A very worrying atmosphere was created on Sunday (0 May) before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bengaluru. Two gelatin sticks with explosive material were recovered near the venue of the Prime Minister’s event. After this incident, security agencies immediately came into alert mode and cordoned off the entire area and started investigation.
According to the information, this matter came to light on the morning of May 10. During the security check before Prime Minister Modi’s program, the police found two gelatin sticks on the side of the footpath, about 3 kilometers from the venue. The recovery took place in Tataguni area under Kaggalipura police station area of Bengaluru, which was connected to the Prime Minister’s movement route.
According to DIG Central Range Bengaluru, a routine security check was going on ahead of the Prime Minister’s program when the suspected explosive material was spotted. Soon after, police and security agencies sealed the area.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, bomb disposal squad and forensic teams were called to the spot. The teams conducted a thorough investigation of the entire area and conducted a search operation in the surrounding area. The police have detained a suspect in the case and started questioning him.
Although initial investigation has not made it clear whether the gelatin sticks were in active condition or not, such recovery ahead of the Prime Minister’s program raised concerns about the security arrangements.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended several programs in Bengaluru on Sunday. First of all he addressed the BJP workers. After this he participated in the 45th foundation day celebration of “Art of Living Foundation”. During this time he inaugurated the new Dhyana Mandir and launched several other projects in the presence of spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
While addressing BJP workers, Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress. He said that Congress blames the whole world for its election defeat. The Prime Minister said, “BJP is continuously winning elections, while Congress could not even cross the 100 seats mark in the last three Lok Sabha elections. But the arrogance of Congress and its supporters is such that they blame the Constitution, democracy, institutions and even the courts for their defeat.”
In the Art of Living program, the Prime Minister emphasized on spirituality, public participation in nation building, environmental protection and the role of youth in building a developed India.
At present, Bengaluru Police and central security agencies are busy investigating the matter. Police are trying to find out how the gelatin sticks reached there and whether there is any major conspiracy angle behind it. Due to security reasons, surveillance and checking has been increased in the entire area.
