Suvendu Cabinet Portfolio: Departments were divided in Bengal’s Subhendu cabinet, know which minister got which ministry?


New Delhi. In West Bengal, along with Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari, five other ministers also took oath. Now departments have been divided in the cabinet of Shubhendu government. Dilip Ghosh has been assigned the departments of Panchayati and Rural Development, Animal Resource Development and Agricultural Marketing. Whereas Agnimitra Paul has been given the responsibility of important departments like Women and Child Development, Social Welfare and Municipal Corporation. Ashok Kirtaniya has been given the Food Department, Khudiram Tudu has been given the Tribal Development Department, Backward Class Welfare and Minority Affairs and Madrasa Education Department. Whereas Nishith Pramanik has got North Bengal Development Department and Youth Welfare and Sports Ministry.

Chief Minister Shuvendu Adhikari has kept other departments including Home with himself. Let us tell you that today the first cabinet meeting of Shubhendu government was also held in which many important decisions were taken including installation of wire fencing on the Bangladesh border. BJP MP from Darjeeling and spokesperson Raju Bista said that the Shubhendu government has today taken a very necessary decision and has abolished all the posts of nominated members, directors and chairpersons etc. of the TMC government in various public sector undertakings, boards, state run organizations and non-statutory bodies with immediate effect.

Apart from this, orders have also been issued to abolish re-employment and service extension given to serving officers and employees after the normal retirement age of 60 years in all departments of the State Government. With this order, all nominated municipal chairpersons, nominated members of various development boards, nominated members of education boards, nominated members of School Service Commission, College Service Commission and other such bodies have been effectively relieved of their posts. This will pave the way for the much-awaited elections in the Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars region and various municipalities across the state. Democracy has won in West Bengal.
