Work on laying railway line begins in UP, good news for many districts
News Desk. A big step has been taken towards strengthening the railway network in Uttar Pradesh. The work of laying the third railway line between Aurihar Junction and Varanasi City under Varanasi Division has started. With the completion of this project, rail traffic and freight transportation system in many districts of Purvanchal is expected to get new momentum.
According to railway officials, this project will play an important role in increasing the convenience of passengers as well as improving the punctuality of trains.
New line will be more than 31 kilometers long
About 31.36 km long third railway line is being constructed between Aurihar and Varanasi city. The project will cost over Rs 497 crore. Railway track expansion, signaling system and other technical works will also be modernized under the project.
These districts will get direct benefits
Passengers going towards Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Gorakhpur, Bhatni and Bihar will benefit from this new railway line. Apart from this, operation of trains on Kolkata route is also likely to become more smooth. Railways believes that after the construction of the new line, the movement of trains will increase and passengers will get relief from long wait.
Pressure of more than 100 trains daily
At present, more than 100 trains operate daily on the Aurihar-Varanasi railway section. This includes goods trains, express and passenger trains. Due to excessive pressure, the problem of delay of trains continues to persist on this route. Construction of the third line will reduce traffic pressure and operations will become more organized.
Concern about land in rural areas
There is concern about land acquisition among the people of Gopalpur, Budhipur, Rampur, Ishopur and Sidhauna villages situated around the railway line. The administration has entrusted the responsibility of mediator in this matter to District Magistrate Ghazipur. The administration is keeping an eye on the problems of local people and issues related to compensation.
