‘Ceasefire with Iran on ventilators…’ Trump’s statement; Critical situation in the Middle East
New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Monday (11 May 2026) gave a big statement regarding the ongoing ceasefire with Iran. He said that Ceasefire is now on ‘ventilator’ and his condition has become very critical. Trump described the reply sent by Tehran as ‘unacceptable’. Speaking to the media in the Oval Office, he said that the ceasefire which started a month ago is now in its weakest phase.
Ceasefire is on life support- Trump
According to media reports, US President Donald Trump, explaining the seriousness of the situation, said, "After reading Iran’s answer, I did not even complete it. I am clearly saying that this ceasefire is now on life support. It seems as if the doctor comes and says that the patient’s chances of survival are only one percent." He indicated that the agreement could be broken at any time.
The ceasefire started from 8 April
It is noteworthy that this ceasefire was implemented on 8 April. At that time, Trump had given a stern warning that if no agreement was reached, he would destroy Iran’s ‘entire civilization’. Initially it was for two weeks, but on April 21, Trump extended it unilaterally. However, since then both countries have been accusing each other of breaking the terms, due to which the ceasefire remains in constant danger.
Tension regarding Hormuz Strait
At the time of announcing the ceasefire, Trump had asked Iran to immediately open the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is very important for the world’s oil trade and was almost closed after the war. After this, America imposed a naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman to stop the movement to Iranian ports.
The attacks are not stopping
Despite the ceasefire, violence continues. Last week, Iran attacked the UAE, while US and Iranian forces exchanged fire in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Pentagon, the US military targeted two Iranian-flagged oil tankers.
Trump does not like Iran’s answer
In fact, American officials were waiting for a formal proposal from Iran so that talks could move forward on ending the war and nuclear program. On Sunday, Trump wrote on Tooth Social, "I have received Iran’s response. I don’t like this, it’s absolutely unacceptable."
