Cut connection work successfully completed by Lucknow Division in Harauni-Jaitipur section.

Lucknow. Important cut connection work in Harauni-Jaitipur railway section was successfully completed by Lucknow Division of Northern Railway. This work was accomplished with careful planning and coordination during the 08-hour traffic shadow/mega block taken on Ganga Bridge No. 110 under the guidance of the General Manager and Headquarters.

Under this work, diversion of down line was done in about 2.1 kilometer length, which also includes two railway bridges. The cut connection activity was successfully completed at both ends. It is noteworthy that bridge numbers 39 and 40 were almost 100 years old and since 2013, the speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour was applicable on these bridges. As per the instructions of the Railway Ministry, new bridges have been constructed in place of these old bridges and new railway lines have been laid on them.

With the completion of this important work pending for about 13 years, the maximum speed of trains on this railway section will now be increased and railway operations will become safer and easier. The site was inspected by the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) on 09 May 2026. After this, the work was completed and the new line was successfully commissioned during the 08-hour mega block taken from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on May 11, 2026.
