Salon in ATM: In Danapur, Patna, such a unique ATM has become a topic of discussion among the people, seeing which everyone is surprised and smiling. Generally, when people hear the name of ATM, the picture of a machine that withdraws money comes to their mind. People stand in line, insert their cards, withdraw cash and go out. But such an ATM has come up in Danapur where people are coming not to withdraw money but to get haircut and shave.

Even today, there is a board saying “SBI ATM” in big letters outside this small ATM point located in Danapur Rupaspur area of Patna. Looking from outside, one would think that a bank’s ATM would be operating inside. But as soon as a person enters, he sees not an ATM machine but a chair, mirror, hair cutting machine, scissors and shaving accessories. Inside, a barber is seen cutting hair and shaving the customers.

Bank’s ATM used to work earlier

According to local people, earlier SBI ATM actually operated here. People nearby used to withdraw money from this ATM and there was movement of customers throughout the day. But due to some reason the bank closed this ATM and removed the machine from there. However, the board, cabin and entire setup of the ATM was left as it was. Later this place was given on rent.

ATM turned hair cutting salon

Landlord SK Singh says that this ATM was closed 6 months ago. Due to water logging, people used to use this ATM, the bank command was that it was causing loss, hence the ATM was removed from here. Opened the ATM machine, CCTV camera and all the facilities and took it to the bank but did not remove the board and outside decoration. The bank was asked several times to remove the boards and decorations but they kept making the excuse of taking permission from Mumbai. Finally we have given this house on rent to a salon. The person who rented this place started his hair cutting salon shop there. Now the situation is such that due to the ATM board installed outside, passersby get confused.

‘ATM Salon’ going viral on social media

There is a crowd of people seeing this unique ATM in Danapur. After reaching here, people first see the ATM board and then are surprised to see the inside. On social media, people are giving it names like “Hair Cutting ATM” and ‘Salon Wala ATM’. This incident may seem funny, but it is also an example of how carelessness and incomplete system can create confusion for people.

Action as soon as the video goes viral

This ATM point in the area has now become a subject of both joke and discussion. Its pictures are also becoming increasingly viral on social media. It can be clearly seen in the pictures that SBI ATM board is installed outside while complete arrangements for hair cutting have been made inside. On one side, where once there was a cash withdrawal machine, there is now a hair cutting machine and shaving equipment kept there. However, after the video went viral, the poster of SBI ATM was removed from the salon.
