‘sealed’ will open in the High Court today in Rahul Gandhi disproportionate assets case. File, hearing will start in the afternoon
Rahul Gandhi Asset Case: Today i.e. on 12th May, a very important hearing is going to be held in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court. Considering the sensitivity of this matter, the court had sealed the entire case file during the last hearing, which will be opened in front of the judges today at 2:15 pm.
This petition has been filed by Karnataka BJP worker Vignesh Shishir. The petitioner alleges that Rahul Gandhi has acquired disproportionate assets from unknown and known sources, which should be thoroughly investigated by central agencies. Shishir had earlier also filed a petition in the case of alleged dual citizenship of Rahul Gandhi.
Main points of today’s hearing
Taking extra precaution in the last hearing, the court had sealed the case file in the custody of the Senior Registrar. According to the order, during the hearing today, the Bench Secretary will open the seal of this file in front of the court. Considering the seriousness of the case and the nature of the documents, a bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Justice Zafeer Ahmed will hear the case ‘in-chamber’. Still working. In the last hearing, agencies like CBI, ED, CBDT and UP Police had sought time to get written instructions, for which the court today gave time till May 12.

Currently, three big cases are going on against Rahul Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh, including dual citizenship and defamation, out of which this case of disproportionate assets is considered to be very sensitive. From defamation case to double citizenship case. While one case is being heard in the MP-MLA court of Sultanpur, the case of dual citizenship is being heard by the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court.
