Balen government’s masterplan: Nepal to be transformed into ‘Devbhoomi’ Will get new identity as Hindus will join at global level
Devbhoomi Mission Nepal Spiritual Tourism: Nepal’s Balen government has made a historic announcement while presenting its first policy in the Parliament. Under this new policy, spiritual tourism has been started as a national campaign in Nepal under Devbhoomi Mission. Its main goal is to make Nepal the largest spiritual and cultural tourism center for Hindus around the world. President Ramchandra Paudel has given detailed information about this important government scheme in the Parliament.
The government believes that Nepal’s rich religious culture and deep faith can attract tourists from all over the world. This big diplomatic step will not only develop the tourism sector but will also greatly strengthen the local economy of the country. Nepal is now moving very fast towards creating a new and strong global religious identity along with its natural beauty.
Development of religious places in Nepal
In its new policy, the Nepal government will add major religious places like Pashupatinath, Muktinath, Lumbini and Janakpurdham to the international level. These famous places will be presented as major global spiritual attractions rather than just a religious center. For this, complete preparations are being made to create a separate special pilgrimage department under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
From Mahabharata area to Manas Khand, all the necessary infrastructure facilities for tourists will be made much better than before. This will provide great convenience to all the devotees and common tourists coming from India and abroad during their journey. Through spiritual pilgrimage diplomacy, Nepal wants to establish its own distinct and unique identity on the world stage.
5000 new homestays will be built and employment will increase
Along with promoting tourism at the grassroots level, the government aims to create at least 5000 new homestays and connect them to the online platform. Under the unique concept of living museum, local art and traditional culture will be directly linked with the tourism industry. This beneficial scheme will create many new employment opportunities for Dalit and marginalized communities.

Apart from spiritual tourism, special focus has also been laid on spectacular adventures like mountaineering, trekking, rafting, paragliding and bungee jump.
