If you’re looking for an electric car that’s not only stylish but also sets the streets on fire with performance, the new Kia EV4 is just for you. Say goodbye to boring driving, as Kia has transformed its compact EV lineup into a powerhouse by adding AWD and high-speed GT variants. With long range and rocket-like speed, this car is now ready to challenge giants like Tesla and Capra.
Kia EV4
Until now, the Kia EV4 was seen only as a vehicle for those who wanted a simple front-wheel-drive electric car. But that’s
changed. Recognizing the pulse of customers, the company has introduced two variants that will become the preferred choice for driving enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking for long-distance travel or enjoying speed on the track, the EV4 now fits the bill.
EV4 AWD
Until now, the EV4 only came with a 204-hp motor, but now it’s equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD). A second electric motor has been fitted at the rear, increasing its total power to 265 hp. This version is an excellent choice for those who need extra grip and confidence on hilly or slippery roads. This variant is only launched with a larger 81.4 kWh battery, which offers an impressive range of 560 km on a single charge. It’s also no slouch when it comes to acceleration, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds.
Kia EV4 GT
The true leader of the lineup is the EV4 GT, which isn’t just a car but a gift for driving enthusiasts. It boasts a tremendous power of 292 hp, which propels it to 100 mph in just 5.6 seconds. Although its range is slightly less than the AWD version, at 505 km, its exceptional performance more than makes up for it.
Its most notable feature is its Virtual Gearbox, which works similarly to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. This system creates the feel and mechanical sound of gear shifting even in an electric car, giving you the thrill of driving a real petrol-powered sports car.

Why are these new variants special?
Kia has not only made these vehicles faster, but has also infused them with sports DNA. The adaptive suspension automatically adjusts the car to the road conditions, ensuring control through every turn. Furthermore, its steering has been sharpened to provide precise feedback to the driver on every turn.
Charging is crucial, whether it’s AWD or GT, as long as the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes, meaning you won’t have to wait long on long journeys. Since the car and its battery are manufactured in Europe, customers also benefit directly from government subsidies and additional bonuses.
Direct Challenge to Tesla
The Kia EV4 now faces direct competition from heavyweights like the Tesla Model 3 Performance and the Cupra Born VZ. While the EV4 is essentially a compact family car, its GT variant elevates it to a powerful sports car. Its starting price in the French market is around 48,890 euros for the AWD variant and 56,390 euros for the top-end GT model.
