Karthi on Karuppu: ‘Suriya Anna’s performance took me back to Baahubali…’

The actor then spoke about his brother, Suriya, and why his performance reminded him of Baahubali. “I watched a few shots and scenes of Anna in the film. Nobody else can carry this kind of role in God mode; only Anna can do it. It is absolute mass. Watching him perform, I was taken back to Baahubaliwhere Prabhas carries an entire Sivalinga. Only some people can carry such an aura.”

Lastly, Karthi seconded RJ Balaji’s remark about the film not being made for people on social media. “I’m really looking forward to this film. I am planning to watch it in Telugu as I’m going to be here when it releases. It is a film made for the theatres, not for people online, as Balaji said. It is made for the lot of us who celebrate cinema.”

Karuppu also stars Trisha, Sshivada, Swasika, Yogi Babu, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, and Indrans, among others. The film, with cinematography by GK Vishnu and editing by Kalaivanan, is all set to hit theatres on May 14.
