Guwahati. Himanta Vishwa Sharma took oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive term. Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office to Sharma at a grand ceremony held at the Veterinary Ground in Khanapara area of ​​Guwahati. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Sarbananda Sonowal, Pabitra Margherita, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states and BJP President Nitin Naveen.

Sharma’s mother Mrinalini Devi, wife Rinki Bhuiyan Sharma, son Nandil Vishwa Sharma and daughter Sukanya Sharma were also present during this period. Sharma (57) has become the first non-Congress Chief Minister to take oath for the second consecutive term in Assam.

The four MLAs who took oath along with Sharma include BJP’s Ajanta Neog and Rameshwar Teli, while their allies Atul Bora of Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and Charan Boro of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
