Ric Flair targets Doncic: “$46 million to sit and watch?”
The Los Angeles Lakers are on the brink. Down 0-3 against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder after a crushing 131-108 loss in Game 3, the Lakers now have to deal not only with OKC’s dominance, but also with growing outside criticism. Leading the charge against Luka Doncicstill sidelined with a hamstring injury, is WWE legend Ric Flair.
Ric Flair’s attack on Doncic
“The Nature Boy,” a passionate LeBron James supporter, did not hold back on X while criticizing the Slovenian star’s absence.
Luka Doncic, there’s only one word I can say: DISAPPOINTING. You make $46 million and can’t play. For that kind of money, I’d jump off the Empire State Building with a parachute without even knowing how to open it
Ric Flair
A brutal criticism that Flair had already hinted at by even calling for Luka to be traded after Game 1 (even though the Lakers’ problems may lie elsewhere: see Ayton).
Despite Flair’s optimism – claiming James did not need Doncic to win – the court has said otherwise. In Game 3, a 19-point LeBron James performance (on 36.8% shooting) was not enough to carry an offense that looked blunt and short on answers. At age 41, James is still putting up elite numbers (23 points and 6.7 assists per game in the series), but as admitted by the King himself:
Luka’s absence is too big a hole to fill

The Lakers’ crossroads: Doncic’s health or a miracle vs. OKC?
While Flair calls for sacrifice in the name of the contract, the Lakers medical staff and Doncic are choosing caution. Risking the future for a playoff series already slipping away – especially with the danger of becoming a target for OKC’s defense while less than full strength – does not appear to be part of the plan.
Now the Lakers need a sporting miracle that no one, not even the most die-hard fans, seems to believe is possible.
