UP became three-time champion in wheelchair cricket: Haryana was defeated by 5 runs in the final, Anil Singhania became man of the match.

Lucknow, Read: In the thrilling final match of the fifth National Wheelchair Cricket Championship held in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh won the title by defeating Haryana by five runs. Under the leadership of captain Somjit Singh, the Uttar Pradesh team performed brilliantly and achieved the honor of becoming national champion for the third time.

Batting first in the final match, Uttar Pradesh scored 191 runs at the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The team’s batsmen played aggressively and scored a strong score. In reply, the Haryana team, chasing the target, struggled till the end, but could score only 186 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs and Uttar Pradesh won the match by five runs.

Uttar Pradesh’s Anil Singhania was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance. He scored important 27 runs and also took two wickets. After the victory, captain Somjit Singh attributed this success to the team’s collective performance, hard work and struggle.
