When this issue started increasing on social media and reaching more people, then some tried to know the truth. When the video and the reality of the catch came to light, it was revealed that the ball on which Akshar Patel Had dropped the catch, actually it was a free hit. The DC bowler had bowled a no-ball before that. According to the rules, a catch on any free-hit ball is not valid. This was the reason why captain Akshar Patel did not show any interest in taking that catch.
