The wait for e-rickshaw drivers is over, registration will start again in Delhi after 4 months

The Rekha government of the capital Delhi has decided to remove the ban on e-rickshaw registration and restart it from May 15, 2026. Along with this, the portal for issuing training certificates for e-rickshaw drivers has also been restarted. The EV Manufacturing Society (EVMS) has welcomed this decision and thanked the Delhi Government. EVMS General Secretary Rajiv Tuli said that the registration process was closed for the last four-five months, due to which thousands of people associated with e-rickshaws were facing problems. The main dispute was regarding training certificates of drivers and system improvements.

EVMS delegation met the Transport Minister

The EVMS delegation met Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh on this issue. Pankaj Singh informed that the portal for issuing training certificates has been restarted from May 12, 2026 and the registration process will also start from May 15. Earlier, the delegation had also met Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in which an early solution was assured. EVMS said that this decision is a relief for e-rickshaw drivers, manufacturers and dealers. Along with Rajiv Tuli, Amit Jhamb, Pawan Kakkar, Mitul Batra and Dinesh Goyal were also included in the delegation.
