Big decision of Yogi government, 50 percent reduction in the convoy of CM and ministers. The effect of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal is now visible in different states of the country. In this series, now a big news has come out from Uttar Pradesh. In fact, after the PM’s appeal, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In this meeting, an important decision has been taken keeping in mind the consumption of petrol and diesel. In fact, in the Yogi government, instructions have been given to reduce the number of vehicles in the convoy of ministers and CMs by 50 percent.

Important meeting held under the chairmanship of CM

After the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Yogi government is brainstorming on new arrangements in view of the possible circumstances. In this context, an important meeting was held on Tuesday. A big decision was taken in this meeting. In fact, the government has first implemented the decisions on itself. Under this, instructions have now been issued to reduce the number of vehicles in the convoy of all the ministers of the state including the Chief Minister by 50 percent. It is being told that this change can be implemented with immediate effect.

What other instructions were issued?

Along with this, the meeting was asked to encourage work from home, virtual meetings, more use of metro and public transport, no vehicle day and car pooling. Besides, instructions were also given to save electricity, eat less oil, rooftop solar, natural farming and promote destination wedding and tourism in Uttar Pradesh.

One day a week should be no vehicle day

The Chief Minister said that ministers, MPs, MLAs and public representatives should use public transport once a week. No vehicle day should be organized once a week. Various sections of the society including government employees, students of schools and colleges should also be involved in this campaign.

Promote work from home culture

Industrial Development Department and IIDC should be encouraged to work from home in industrial institutions, big startups etc. Where a large number of employees are employed, an advisory should be issued at the state level recommending them to work from home two days a week.

50 percent internal meetings should also be conducted virtually

Seminars, meetings, workshops of the education department including government meetings etc. should be organized through virtual medium. 50 percent internal meetings of the State Secretariat/Directorate should also be held virtually. Encourage the use of school buses in schools and colleges. If necessary, transport corporation buses should also be connected to schools. Office hours can be divided into different batches to reduce fuel usage during peak hours.

The Chief Minister laid emphasis on the use of public transport, cycling, car pooling and EVs. Said that in the cities where metro is operating, people should use it to the maximum extent. Public transport services including buses should be increased on routes with high demand.

Emphasis on saving electricity

Also appealed to the people of the state to save electricity. Also said that unnecessary electricity should not be used in government buildings, houses, private establishments etc. There should be minimal use of decorative lights after 10 pm in private establishments/commercial complexes etc. CM Yogi stressed on encouraging public cycling sharing scheme. He urged people not to undertake non-essential foreign trips for the next six months.

Wedding planners organize events in the country also

CM appealed to citizens, wedding planners etc. to organize events in the country itself. Said that UP also has many good places including heritage, eco sites, forts, destination weddings should be promoted there too.

Visit My State campaign launched

CM Yogi said that a campaign in the name of Visit My State should be started. In this, tourism based on wellness, eco, rural, wildlife and food should be promoted. UP is the first state to implement ‘One District, One Cuisine’. CM directed to make museums, monuments etc. free for some time.
