New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday said that China should reflect on whether its reported support to Pakistan’s terrorist infrastructure affects its global “reputation and standing.”
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal made the remarks during a weekly press briefing in New Delhi, responding to reports suggesting that China had admitted providing on-ground support to Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor in May 2025.
Jaiswal said India had already taken note of such reports and stressed that responsible nations must consider the consequences of supporting or shielding terror-related infrastructure.
‘Operation Sindoor Was Precise and Targeted Response’
The MEA reiterated that Operation Sindoor was a carefully planned and calibrated military response to the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025.
According to the spokesperson, the operation was aimed at destroying state-supported terrorist infrastructure operating from across the border.
He described the strikes as “precise, targeted, and calibrated,” highlighting that India’s response was strictly focused on eliminating terror networks rather than escalating conflict.
Strikes on Terror Camps Across Pakistan
On the intervening night of May 6 and 7, 2025, Indian armed forces carried out coordinated strikes on nine terror locations in Pakistan.
Officials said the operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists linked to cross-border terror activities. The strikes were part of India’s broader counter-terror strategy following repeated attacks on civilians and security forces.
The MEA maintained that India’s actions were defensive in nature and aimed at ensuring national security and deterrence against future attacks.
Diplomatic Message to Global Community
India’s remarks also carried a broader diplomatic message, urging the international community to take a firm stand against countries that allegedly support or protect terror networks.
Officials indicated that India continues to monitor regional developments closely and will respond firmly to any support extended to terrorism.
The statement adds a new layer of tension in already sensitive India-China-Pakistan geopolitical dynamics.
