India launches decisive battle of defense revolution with drone city, super fighter jet and smart weapons

India is now rapidly moving towards becoming not just a buyer in the defense sector, but a power that provides technology to the world. For the first time in the country, work has started simultaneously on high-tech projects like Drone City, Fifth Generation Super Fighter Jet and smart weapons. The objective of these projects is to make India self-reliant in war technology and end foreign dependence. The government claims that this technology will become the biggest strength of the Indian Army in the coming times. This new revolution started in the defense sector is being considered a big step towards making India a global military technology hub.

India’s big bet in defense sector

India is now moving rapidly towards becoming completely self-reliant in the defense sector. In Andhra Pradesh, the foundation stone of many big defense projects was laid in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The aim of these projects is to put India in the league of big powers of the world in the field of defense manufacturing. Now modern fighter aircraft, underwater systems, drones and hi-tech weapons will be made in the country itself.

India will make its own fifth generation fighter jet

On this occasion, the foundation stone of Core Integration and Flight Testing Center for India’s fifth generation fighter aircraft “AMCA” was laid. The project is being developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency, which is working in collaboration with the Defense Research and Development Organisation. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that this will be a completely indigenous stealth fighter jet, which is available only in a few selected countries of the world. Earlier, the same agency has given Tejas Mark-1 to the country and now work is going on on Tejas Mark-2 also.

India’s strength will increase in the sea also

A big project has also been started for the Indian Navy. A modern underwater system center is being built by Bharat Dynamics Limited at a cost of Rs 480 crore. Autonomous underwater vehicles, underwater counter measure systems and next generation torpedoes will be manufactured here. Till now India had to depend on foreign countries for these technologies and equipment, but now all this will be made in the country itself. This will strengthen both the strength and maritime security of the Indian Navy.

New weapons will be ready for future wars

Another big project has been started by Agneyastra Energetics. This company is building a state-of-the-art weapons manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 1500 crore. Such weapons will be made here which will give new strength to the Indian Army in future battles. The Defense Minister said that in the coming times, wars will be fought not only with guns but with technology and India is moving rapidly in that direction.

Self-sufficiency in ammunition and fuse systems

An ammunition and electric fuse plant is being built by HFCL at a cost of Rs 1294 crore. Rajnath Singh said that the most important part of any ammunition is its fuse. If the fuse is not reliable the entire weapon may become useless. Now, by making state-of-the-art fuse in India itself, the strength of the three armies will increase and foreign dependence will be reduced.

Kurnool will become India’s “drone city”

Eight drone companies are working together to create a “Drone City” in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The Defense Minister said that drone technology has become a game changer in today’s war. Now the role of drones is continuously increasing in agriculture, security and industrial sectors also. He expressed confidence that in the coming times, Kurnool will be recognized as a drone hub in the whole world. Just as Bengaluru is called the Silicon Valley of India, similarly Kurnool will be called the Drone City of India.

Employment and education sector will also benefit

The impact of all these projects will not be limited to the defense sector only. This will create new employment opportunities for lakhs of youth. Engineering colleges, ITIs and technical institutes will also be linked to these projects. This will develop new technology in the country and the youth will get an opportunity to work on modern defense technologies.

Big preparations to end foreign dependence

India has long been dependent on foreign countries for many defense equipment and technologies. But now the focus of the government is on “Make in India” and “Self-reliant India”. Through these projects, India will not only meet its needs but can also become a major exporter of defense equipment in the future. Experts believe that this step can give India a new identity in the global defense market.
