Hearing on voter list dispute related to Sonia Gandhi postponed in Rouse Avenue Court!

The hearing was postponed in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on the revision petition filed against Congress Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi, in which she has been accused of including her name in the voter list without acquiring Indian citizenship. Now the next hearing of this case will be on July 4.

During the last hearing, the court had directed both the parties to file their written arguments within a week. Meanwhile, the complainant’s lawyer Vikas Tripathi had sought permission to keep some documents received from the Election Commission on the court record, which was accepted by the court.

During the hearing, it was said on behalf of the complainant that at present their demand is not to start the trial but to get the police investigation done. He said that there are many questions in the case which require an impartial investigation.

The petition alleged that Sonia Gandhi had acquired Indian citizenship on April 30, 1983, but her name was already present in the voter list of New Delhi for the year 1980.

The petitioner has raised the question that when he got citizenship in 1983, then on what basis his name was included in the voter list of 1980. It has also been asked in the petition whether any fake document was used to register names in the voter list at that time.

Apart from this, it has also been claimed in the petition that in the year 1982, Sonia Gandhi’s name was removed from the voter list. The complainant has questioned what was the reason for removing the name and what documents or process were adopted behind it.

Now the court will hear further on this entire matter on July 4, on which everyone’s eyes are fixed.
