The UK Labor government finds itself in crisis amid growing voter anger with the Starmer administration. From the appointment of Peter Mandelson and his links with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to Labour’s poor performance in local elections, calls for Starmer’s resignation have now grown exponentially.

The latest blow came when Wes Streeting, former health secretary in Starmer’s cabinet, resigned. On Saturday, Streeting announced that he would challenge Starmer in a future Labor Party leadership contest and would also launch his candidacy for the post of Prime Minister. During his speech, the former Health Secretary also urged Starmer to set a deadline for his resignation.

Starmer’s increasing unpopularity

Amidst all this turmoil, Keir Starmer’s popularity has also declined rapidly. According to YouGov UK survey, about 69 percent of British people have a negative opinion about the leader of the Labor Party. YouGov further stated that Starmer is currently the least popular Prime Minister on record, with many comparing him to Liz Truss’s 49-day tenure as UK PM.

Apart from this, Starmer’s own party also seems to be losing confidence in his leadership. Many Labor MPs now fear that if Starmer’s unpopularity continues, it will jeopardize the chances of forming a future Labor government and the country could fall into the hands of the right-wing faction led by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
