Weather Alert: Very heavy next 48 hours! Alert of severe storm and torrential rain in 15 states including UP-Bihar
The weather patterns across the country are going to change completely once again. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a very important warning for many parts of the country today i.e. on 17th May. According to the Meteorological Department, apart from the country’s capital Delhi, an alert of heavy rain and dangerous storm has been issued in a total of 15 states including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. During this period, there is a possibility of destructive strong winds at a speed of 75 kilometers per hour in many areas of the country. Also, a severe storm can once again wreak havoc in many states of North India, due to which people have been advised to be careful.
Dust storm and lightning warning in Delhi-NCR
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dust storm and stormy winds on May 17 and 18 for the people living in the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas (NCR). After scorching heat during the day, light rain with lightning is expected during the night. Talking about temperature, today the mercury in Delhi can rise to 42 degrees Celsius. At the same time, on May 18, the maximum temperature is expected to be 43 degrees and the minimum will be 26 degrees Celsius. However, after this there may be some relief and on May 21, the maximum temperature can be recorded up to 41 degrees and minimum 26 degrees Celsius.
Fire raining from sky in Uttar Pradesh, mercury crosses 44 in Banda
On one hand, there is a rain alert in many states of the country, on the other hand, the torture of scorching heat continues in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The mercury has reached a record 44.8 degrees Celsius in Banda, UP. Apart from this, people in Prayagraj and Jhansi are also suffering from severe heat and scorching heat, where the maximum temperature is being recorded beyond 44 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather of UP is likely to remain mainly dry in the coming days. The sky has been predicted to remain completely clear throughout the day today in the state capital Lucknow and its surrounding areas.
Temperature will rise again in Rajasthan, chances of drizzle with strong storm
Now the temperature has started increasing in most areas of Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, the effect of heat will increase once again in the state from May 17. However, amidst this heat, there is a possibility of strong thunderstorm at many places in Bikaner division, Shekhawati region, Jaipur and northern parts of Bharatpur division on 17 and 18 May. During this period, dusty winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and there may be a slight change in the weather due to light drizzle in some areas.
High alert of heavy rain and storm in these districts of Bihar
In Bihar, the Meteorological Department has issued a strict warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm for many districts. Double attack of nature can be seen in Gaya, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, West Champaran, East Champaran, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Munger, Rohtas, Kaimur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Katihar and Begusarai of the state, where there can be torrential rains along with strong winds. If we talk about the capital Patna, the maximum temperature here on May 17 and 18 is expected to be around 41 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 27 degrees Celsius.
Clouds cover the valleys of Himachal, mercury drops in Manali
The sky will be densely covered in the famous tourist destinations of Kangra, Solan, Kullu, Shimla and Chamba in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh on May 17 and 18. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the mountains during this period. The feeling of cold has increased in the tourists’ favorite city Manali, where on May 17 and 18, the maximum temperature may drop to 11 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may drop to just 1 degree Celsius.
Pressure deepens in Bay of Bengal, torrential disaster in Tamil Nadu
On the other hand, the direct and dangerous effect of the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal is clearly visible in Tamil Nadu. Due to this deep depression, heavy rains are continuing in many districts of Tamil Nadu. IMD has issued a warning of more heavy rain here for the coming days. Especially on May 18, heavy to very heavy rains have been predicted in Dindigul, Theni, Coimbatore and Nilgiri districts of the state.
