Work to restore electricity system continues on war footing after storm and rain

Executive Engineer, Power Distribution Division, Robertsganj said that due to the recent strong storm and light rain in the district, power lines, wires and poles were damaged at many places. Giving top priority to public interest, the work of repairing the damaged electricity system is being done on a war footing by the Electricity Department. He said that departmental officers and employees are continuously in the field and are engaged in repair work day and night.
Electricity supply has been completely restored in urban areas, while about 90 percent electricity supply has been restored in rural areas. In the remaining affected areas, replacement of broken poles, connection of wires and other technical works are being done rapidly. Soon electricity supply will be normalized in all areas. The Executive Engineer appealed to the public to maintain patience and cooperation in adverse circumstances. The Electricity Department is working with full promptness and sensitivity.
He also requested the citizens to maintain a safe distance from broken electrical wires, poles and other electrical equipment and immediately inform the department of any emergency, so that possible accidents can be avoided. Expressing regret for the inconvenience being caused to the general public, the Electricity Department has assured that soon electricity supply will be fully restored in the remaining areas also.
