Major crisis in UAE: Drone attack on Barakah Nuclear Plant, the world shuddered after seeing the orgy of fire.

Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia (Middle East), a very shocking and scary news has come out from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A suspicious drone attack has taken place on the exterior of ‘Barakah Nuclear Power Plant’ located in Al Dhafra region of UAE, after which a massive fire broke out there. Abu Dhabi Media Office, while officially confirming the attack on Sunday, said that due to the drone strike, a sudden fire broke out in a large electrical generator installed just outside the inner security perimeter of the plant. The pictures of fire and smoke rising into the sky created a stir all over the world.

Huge fire broke out in electric generator due to drone attack

According to officials, immediately after the drone attack, security teams of the nuclear power plant and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. It is a matter of relief that the brave firefighters showed promptness in time and completely controlled the fire, due to which a major accident was averted. After the initial investigation, the administration has heaved a sigh of relief, because there is no information about any employee or security personnel getting injured in this entire accident. Officials clarified that the fire was limited to only the generators on the outer part of the plant, away from the main premises.

FANR issued a statement, is the nuclear plant safe?

After this sensitive incident, UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) immediately issued an official statement allaying the concerns of the world. The regulator clarified that this drone attack and fire had no impact on the main safety system of the nuclear power plant or its essential systems. All important systems and units of the nuclear plant are working normally as usual.

The biggest relief is that no adverse effect of any kind has been seen on the Radiological Safety Level, that is, no nuclear radiation of any kind has spread there. The administration has made a special appeal to the general public and the media to rely only on information from official sources in this sensitive matter and avoid sharing any kind of rumor or unverified scary news on social media.

Who is behind the suspicious drone?

The Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is considered a vital part of the UAE’s overall energy strategy and economy. In such a situation, this drone attack targeting the nuclear plant has once again raised serious questions and new concerns regarding the regional security of the Gulf countries. However, in the official statement issued by the UAE government, it has not yet been made clear which country or organization was behind this suspicious drone attack.

It is noteworthy that during the ongoing severe tension between Israel, America and Iran for some time, UAE has faced missile and drone attacks several times. According to defense officials, Iran was previously behind some major attacks targeting UAE’s energy installations and maritime infrastructure. In such a situation, the needle of this latest attack also seems to be moving in the same direction, the security agencies have started investigating it.
