Prime Minister Modi honored with Norway’s highest honour: ‘Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit’

Oslo. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Monday awarded the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit, Norway’s highest civilian honour. This is the 32nd international honor received by Prime Minister Modi. The ‘Grand Cross’ is the highest rank of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit. This honor is given for exceptional contributions to Norway’s interests and strengthening international relations.

A day before this, Modi was honored with Sweden’s prestigious ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star, Degree Commander Grand Cross’. He was given this honor for strengthening bilateral relations and for his visionary leadership. This honor is Sweden’s highest honor given to foreign heads of government. Prime Minister Modi reached Oslo on a two-day visit from Sweden. This is Modi’s first visit to Norway and the first visit by any Indian Prime Minister to Norway in the last 43 years.

32nd honor so far

Till now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored with the highest civilian honor by 32 countries. Just a day earlier, Sweden had also honored PM Modi with its highest honor ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star, Commander Grand Cross’.
