‘She used to take drugs and also mental therapy…’ Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law made many allegations in the press conference.

Bhopal: Now there is a new twist in Twisha Sharma suicide case. On Monday (18 May 2026), Twisha’s mother-in-law Girbala Singh appeared before the media. He completely rejected all the allegations against his in-laws. Girbala, on the contrary, raised questions on Twisha’s mental health. He said that Twisha’s departure is like a nightmare for him. After all she was part of their house.

Twisha was given psychiatric counseling   

According to media reports, Girbala Singh also claimed during this time that Twisha was undergoing psychiatric counselling. He was given the same medicines which are given to schizophrenia patients. After taking the medicine, she remained fine for a day or two, but then her behavior changed.

Girbala told that Twisha also used to do puja and often slept with her head in his lap. She said that there was psychological pressure on her to enter the glamor world at a young age.

Denial of dowry harassment allegations  

Twisha, a resident of Noida, married Samarth Singh of Bhopal in December 2025. On the night of 12th May, he committed suicide by hanging himself. Twisha’s maternal family alleges that she was harassed for dowry.

Before her death, Twisha had called her mother and said that she could not bear it anymore. Girbala Singh said that that night he was giving every moment information to Twisha’s mother. The call came at 10:10 pm and by 10:50 they had reached AIIMS.

Made a big revelation regarding abortion   

Girbala told during this time that everyone in the family was happy about the first child. But Twisha got the abortion done on her own will. The doctors had also refused. On the same day she also went for psychiatric counselling.

Girbala said that it was her fault that she could not get him complete mental therapy. He told that after starting the MTP course, Twisha had asked him to reverse it. She also took him to the clinic.

Serious allegations against parents   

It is noteworthy that Girbala Singh also raised questions on Twisha’s parents. He said that in the 5 months of marriage he did not come to meet even once. Only once did Tisha go home of her own free will. He called Twisha’s mother by phone, but she did not come.

Girbala alleged that her parents used to earn money from her beauty. She said that her husband was martyred in Manipur. Even in the mortuary, Twisha’s family members were shouting at her. Girbala said that those who cannot respect the martyr’s wife, talk about serving the country.
