Iran will get back 25% of seized money! Big relief on oil too… America’s shocking U-turn
New Delhi: Big news has come towards reducing tension between America and Iran. According to senior Iranian officials, America has now agreed to unfreeze 25 percent of Iran’s seized assets. America has frozen billions of dollars of Iran for a long time. Iranian officials say that America is showing flexibility in talks to resolve the dispute.
Revised proposal sent through Pakistan
According to media reports, Iran has sent a new proposal to America through Pakistan. Three main demands have been made in this. First, a permanent end to the war. Second, removing all restrictions. Third, fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking to Reuters, an Iranian official said that the US has shown leniency on many issues, including restrictions on the nuclear program. Although Tehran is demanding unfreezing of all funds, the US has currently agreed to release only 25% of the amount.
Pakistan becomes mediator, warns of shortage of time
Pakistan is playing the role of mediator in this entire conversation. Pakistani sources told Reuters on Monday that they had forwarded Iran’s revised proposal to the US. Also warned that both the countries do not have much time left to resolve their differences. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai also confirmed that Tehran’s views have reached the US side through Pakistan. But he did not share the details of the proposal.
Relief may also be available in oil sanctions
According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, America is also ready to give relaxation in oil sanctions imposed on Iran during the period of talks. Although Iran has not officially confirmed this. Let us tell you that Iran’s total frozen foreign assets are more than 100 billion dollars.
Most of this is money earned from oil exports which is stuck in different countries. Nearly $2 billion of Iran’s assets are frozen in the US alone. Iran’s money is also blocked in Europe, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, China, India and Iraq due to US sanctions.
