Major rail accident averted in Rishikesh, 3 coaches of Ujjain Express derailed
Train Accident: A major train accident was averted on Tuesday in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. During shunting in the railway yard, Ujjain Express suddenly went out of control, due to which the engine and some coaches derailed. The train moving at high speed broke the wall of the yard and passed, due to which an atmosphere of chaos was created at the spot.
According to the information, train number 14317 Ujjain Express was being taken for shunting in the station yard. Meanwhile, due to technical fault the control of the train got disturbed. In the preliminary investigation, there is a possibility of fault in the brake system.
Railway technical team reached the spot
The matter of relief is that the train was empty at the time of the accident. According to railway officials, there is no information about any passenger or employee being injured in the incident. Immediately after the accident, the technical team and officials of the Railways reached the spot and investigation was started.
Senior Commercial Manager Mahesh Yadav said that the wheels of the engine have derailed and the entire matter is being investigated in detail. The damage caused to the railway track and yard is also being assessed.
Increased concern regarding technical monitoring
After this incident, questions are once again being raised on the security arrangements and technical monitoring of the Railways. If there were passengers present in the train, the accident could have taken a serious form. At present the railway administration is busy finding out the reasons for the incident.
