Court ruled in favor of OpenAI in Elon Musk and OpenAI dispute

New Delhi, 19 May 2026: Elon Musk and OpenAI controversy In the ongoing legal dispute between billionaire Elon Musk and OpenAI, a California court has ruled in favor of OpenAI.

The jurors in Oakland Federal Court unanimously agreed that Muske had filed a too-much case. The court also rejected Muska’s claim that OpenAI had reneged on its initial promise to work for the benefit of humanity.

In the lawsuit, which began on April 28, Musk alleged that the company has abandoned its old ideals and is focused solely on making profits and enriching its investors.

The court battle between Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has reignited a global debate over who should control AI technology and how fast it should be developed. After almost two weeks of hearing and weighing the arguments of both the companies, the court finally gave its verdict.
