Patna. Bihar government has taken a big step towards modernizing the state’s transport system. With the aim of providing better facilities to the passengers, the government is now going to build state-of-the-art bus stands in many districts. This project will be developed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, which is expected to completely change the face of bus stands.
The first phase will start in 16 districts
In the first phase, the government has selected 16 districts, where modern bus stands will be constructed. This scheme will be implemented in other districts except 9 divisional districts including Patna. In the coming time, other districts can also be connected to this project.
Facility will be available in six storey building
The new bus stand will be developed as a G+5 i.e. six storey building. The aim of the government is to prepare the bus stands not just as a stopping place for passengers but as a modern transit centre. A plan has been made to provide facilities like airport and railway station to the passengers here.
Air conditioned waiting hall facility
Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, two floors of the bus stand will be made completely air conditioned waiting halls. There will be comfortable seating arrangements here, so that passengers do not face any problem during long wait. Apart from this, separate rest rooms will also be made for women, elderly and people traveling with family.
Medical and ambulance facilities also
The government has also given priority to health facilities in the bus stand complex. A team of doctors and ambulance will be arranged here for medical emergency. There is also a plan to provide the facility of free transportation to the hospital if any passenger becomes ill.
Special attention to safety and cleanliness
Under the new project, security arrangements will be strengthened at the bus stand. Facilities like CCTV surveillance, cleanliness, digital information system and modern ticketing system will also be developed. This will provide a more safe and convenient environment to the passengers.
