CSK’s match winner sank the team’s boat, made a shameful record in IPL

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a very poor start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The team had lost its first 3 matches. CSK made a strong comeback after this and won 6 in the next 8 matches. She emerged as a strong contender for the playoffs. But CSK derailed at the end of the league stage. First they were defeated by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 7 wickets and in the next match they were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets. Anshul Kamboj, who took the most wickets for CSK in both these matches, was very expensive.

Kamboj gave away 63 runs in 2.3 overs against LSG. He was hit 4-4 sixes consecutively by Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. Kamboj also gave a lot of runs to SRH and gave away 46 runs in his 4 over spell. He got 1 success against SRH.

Kamboj made a shameful record

After being badly beaten in two consecutive matches, it was expected that Kamboj would make a comeback and keep CSK alive in the race for the playoffs. But his bad bowling continued. Kamboj conceded 56 runs in 4 overs against Gujarat Titans on Thursday (May 21). He was hit 4 sixes by GT batsmen, due to which an embarrassing record has been added to his name. Kamboj has hit 34 sixes in the current season. He has become the bowler who has hit the most sixes in a single season of IPL.

Kamboj sank CSK’s boat

25-year-old Kamboj is the highest wicket-taker for CSK in IPL 2026. He has taken 21 wickets in 14 matches and is at third place in the race for playoffs. His economy has been 10.52, which is the highest among bowlers who have taken more than 12 wickets this season. Kamboj was giving runs and taking wickets in the mid-season but his expensive bowling in the last three matches sank CSK.
