Cockroach Janata Party: Konkana Sen Sharma unfollowed viral account
Cockroach Janata Party emerges on social media
These days, an imaginary and satirical political movement called ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) is spreading rapidly on social media. Along with the general public, many prominent Bollywood celebrities have also participated in this digital campaign. Recently, actress Konkana Sen Sharma has unfollowed this viral account, which has heated up the discussion on the internet. Interestingly, Konkana has become the first major celebrity to leave the account, while other stars like Anurag Kashyap, Dia Mirza and Esha Gupta are still following it.
Rise of CJP and Konkana’s decision
CJP is a satirical political movement started by digital strategist Abhijit Dipke. The movement became popular in May 2026 after a sarcastic response to Chief Justice Surya Kant’s comments. Currently, the movement is operating through two different social media accounts. Konkana’s name was earlier among the followers of this party, but now she has disappeared from this list, which is an indication of her unfollowing.
CJP’s followers and other celebrities
Those following CJP’s official Instagram handle include filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, actresses Dia Mirza, Esha Gupta, Fatima Sana Shaikh, director Kunal Kohli and comedian Kunal Kamra. Apart from this, many TV personalities like Umar Riaz, Urfi Javed, Himanshi Khurana and Sheezaan Khan are also participating in the discussions related to this fictional political organization.
Importance of CJP
‘Cockroach Janata Party’ recently came into limelight when the Chief Justice of India compared social media users to ‘cockroaches’ and ‘parasites’. On this, Abhijeet Dipke started a meme-based political satire movement. The movement has made an important commentary on unemployment, youth frustration and political discourse in the digital age.
