Learning handicrafts is changing the colors of life, senior citizens learned paper craft in old age home “Sahara”.

Realizing this thought, paper craft training was organized under the skill development program for senior citizens at the old age home “Sahara” West Champaran, located in Bettiah Bada Ramna, run by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Bihar. By participating in the program with full enthusiasm and enthusiasm, the elderly people proved that age does not matter for a new beginning. The trainers of Aarohi Kala Sanskriti Welfare Trust, an initiative to increase self-confidence through creative activities, gave practical training in making paper bags and thonga under paper art to the senior citizens living in old age homes. During training at the old age home run by Umang Bal Vikas Residential Disability Training Institute, Patna, elderly people were seen making useful items from colorful papers. Many elders expressed happiness while learning this kind of handicraft work for the first time and said that it not only makes good use of time but also keeps the mind happy.
Trainers said that such activities not only keep senior citizens mentally active but also motivate them to become self-reliant. This skill related to environmental protection will also be helpful in reducing the use of plastic. Steps towards a positive lifestyle: The guests present at the program said that the elderly should not only get care but also respect and creative opportunities. Such programs play an important role in connecting them with society, removing loneliness and increasing self-confidence. On the occasion, Superintendent of Old Age Home “Sahara” Aditya Madhukar, President of Aarohi Kala Sanskriti Welfare Trust Prabhat Jha, President of Lakshya Human Development Trust Kundan Shandilya, Master Trainer Santosh Anand, Ambuj Anupam and Anshuman and many others were present. At the end of the program, gratitude was expressed to all the trainers and colleagues and it was said that such skill development programs would be organized continuously in future also.
