New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has made a major contribution to the development of a government school in the remote Gurez Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. In the year 2021, the actor had provided financial assistance of Rs one crore to Nero Tulail, Government Middle School of Bandipora district. With this cooperation, there has been a major change in the infrastructure of the school and now a new education block equipped with modern facilities has been prepared for the students.
What was the name of the new building?
This new building constructed in the school has been named “Shri Hari Om Bhatia Education Block”, which Akshay Kumar has dedicated to the memory of his late father. Lack of education facilities was being felt for a long time in this border area located close to the Line of Control. In such a situation, with the help of actors, children are now getting the opportunity to study in a better environment.
Modern classrooms, computer labs, libraries and separate offices for teachers have been built in the new education block. Apart from this, the mid-day meal system of the school has also been improved. Clean and organized facilities have been created for the students, which has significantly improved their studies and daily activities.
When did Akshay visit Gurez Valley?
According to local people, Akshay Kumar visited Gurez Valley in the year 2021 on the invitation of Border Security Force (BSF). During this, he met children and villagers in the school of Tulail village. It is said that the actor became emotional after seeing the difficult conditions and limited resources of the students and decided to help the school.
During the Gurez Yatra, Akshay Kumar also spent time with the BSF soldiers deployed on the border. He interacted with the soldiers, posed for photographs and participated in cultural programs. He also paid tribute to the martyred soldiers by reaching the war memorial built in the area.
Now after the construction of a new building in the school, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the students and teachers. Local people say that better infrastructure will improve the education level of children and will give a new direction to education in this remote area. Talking about work, Akshay Kumar is going to be seen in films like “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Haivaan” in the coming time.
