PWL stalwarts will roar in Asian Championship! Indian team announced for Under-17 and Under-23 Asian Wrestling

New Delhi: The ever-growing influence of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) on the Indian wrestling ecosystem will once again be seen on the continental stage. Several wrestlers from PWL 2026 will represent India at the Under-17 and Under-23 Asian Wrestling Championships to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam from May 23 to 31, 2026.

The four wrestlers included in the Indian contingent performed brilliantly in PWL 2026, which reflects the league’s emergence as a premier platform to nurture, develop and nurture India’s new generation wrestlers. In the Under-23 men’s freestyle category, reigning Under-23 Asian champion Punjab Royals’ Chandermohan will compete in the 79 kg category, while Haryana Thunders’ Sachin More – who was a part of the PWL 2026 title campaign – will represent India in the 86 kg category. Strong representation of PWL will also be seen in the Under-23 women’s category. Haryana Thunder’s Neha (59kg) and Kajal (76kg), who were key members of the PWL 2026 winning team, will be part of the Indian team. Neha will enter this championship with great international experience. She has previously won a bronze medal in the Under-20 World Championship and has also won a gold medal in the Under-17 Asian Championship. Kajal has quickly established herself as one of India’s brightest young wrestling talents.

She will enter Da Nang as the reigning Under-20 World Champion, Under-17 World Champion and Under-20 Asian Champion. The presence of these wrestlers in the Indian team once again proves that PWL is not limited to just a franchise league, but is also playing an important role in strengthening the wrestling structure of the country. Since its return, PWL has established itself as a player-centric platform that aims to connect Indian grassroots wrestling to the global platform. Through continuous competitive opportunities and interaction with world-class athletes, the league is working to prepare young Indian wrestlers for success at the Asian, World and Olympic levels.

PWL CEO and Promoter Akhil Gupta has previously reiterated the long-term vision of the league, which includes creating a strong professional ecosystem to meaningfully contribute to the growth of Indian wrestling and provide support and platform to emerging talent. The selection of several PWL wrestlers for the Under-17 and Under-23 Asian Wrestling Championships once again shows that the league continues to make a significant contribution in identifying, developing and establishing India’s future wrestling stars on the international stage. Many of Asia’s top emerging wrestlers will be participating in this championship to be held in Da Nang and India will be looking forward to strong performances in various categories in the coming days.
