Ex-girlfriend of Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse says he sold Rolls-Royce gifted by son Nicolas to pay off her debts

Patrick began dating the Shanghai-born model in 2005 when she was 20. Their relationship, which reportedly ended in 2018, drew public attention because of their 49-year age gap, AsiaOne reported.

According to local media outlets, Coco recently talked about her relationship with Patrick in a video interview where she was asked, “If Patrick had no money, would you still have fallen in love with him?”

Coco said she was financially well off at the time and able to buy luxury goods whenever she wanted. The Star quoted her as saying, “I never dated him for his wealth. I was drawn to his charm.”

She said she fell into debt after a failed investment during their relationship and that Patrick helped her by selling his Rolls-Royce and giving her the proceeds. The car had been gifted to him by Nicholas Tse for Father’s Day in 2013 and carried a customized license plate chosen by Jennifer Tse.

Coco added that Patrick gave her property in Shanghai and gold bars during their relationship. She was also rumored to have received HK$20 million (US$2.6 million) after the couple broke up.

“Two years into our relationship, he told me the property market in Shanghai was good and that he would buy me one or two apartments to invest in,” she said

“Later on, he said he would buy me a few gold bars a year and place them in a safe deposit box. He told me, ‘When you are penniless, you can cash them out.’”

Patrick had multiple relationships and was married twice, to actresses Zhen Zhen and Deborah Lee. He and Lee have two children, including Nicholas, and divorced in 1995.

He entered the entertainment industry in 1953 and became known for his role in “King of Gamblers.” He has also appeared in numerous productions, including “Treasure Raiders,” “The Shell Game,” “The Legend of the Condor Heroes,” “The Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain,” “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils,” and “Shaolin Soccer.”

Coco now runs a business and keeps her personal life private. She says she has never regretted the relationship: “He’s not just my benefactor or mentor, but someone who cared for and loved me like family. I’m grateful to him.”
