Accused of taking lakhs of rupees in the name of land sale, victim pleads for action

Draft:- A case of taking lakhs of rupees in the name of sale of land and not registering it despite the expiry of the stipulated time has come to light. In this regard, the aggrieved party has appealed for justice on the basis of written documents and payment receipts. The matter has now become a topic of discussion in the area.
According to the information received, an agreement was made by Ranjit Kumar, resident of Kumhartoli, with Anil Kumar, resident of Sukhmalchak of Bhagwanganj police station area, on August 27, 2024, regarding the sale of land. According to the document, the price of the land was fixed at Rs 36 lakh per kattha and the initial amount was taken as earnest money.
It has been told that at the time of the agreement, Rs 5 lakh was given as advance and it was decided to pay the remaining amount within the stipulated time and get the registration done. A time limit of five months was set in the document for registration.
The aggrieved party alleges that even after the agreement, lakhs of rupees were taken in cash and through bank accounts through several installments on different dates. Many other payments including Rs 50 thousand, Rs 1 lakh, Rs 1.35 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, Rs 94 thousand 500 have been mentioned in the documents presented.
It is alleged that despite taking a huge amount, the land registration has not been done yet. The aggrieved party says that when there is talk of registry, there is avoidance. The dispute between the two parties regarding the matter is deepening.
It is also mentioned in the document that if the seller does not do the registration within the stipulated time limit, then the buyer can take legal action in the competent court and has the right to recover the amount given along with interest.
At present, discussions regarding Panchayat and legal action have intensified at the local level regarding the matter. The aggrieved party has demanded an impartial investigation from the administration and justice.
