Quantity of petrol and diesel in India

Let us tell you that this increase has happened a day after the assurance of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in which the Ministry had said that despite the rumours, India has adequate supply of petrol and diesel. A tweet from the ministry said, ‘India has adequate availability of petrol and diesel and the supply remains stable across the country. Citizens are advised not to make panic purchases and purchase fuel only as per their actual requirement. “The temporary pressure on some retail outlets is being addressed by oil marketing companies through continuous monitoring of supplies and coordinated distribution efforts.”

It further said that responsible consumption and public cooperation will help in ensuring smooth availability of fuel for all in this current surge in demand. There was a huge increase in fuel prices in India on May 16, when government oil companies revised the prices and increased the rates of petrol and diesel by about Rs 3 per liter in many cities. After this, on May 19, prices were again increased by 90 paise in all metros. With this latest hike, fuel prices have increased by about Rs 5 per liter during this period.
