Great news for the village heads of UP, they can get a big gift.

Lucknow. A big update has come out regarding Panchayat elections 2026 in Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that this time Panchayat elections will not be held on time. In such a situation, Yogi Adityanath government is preparing to provide big relief to the village heads.

According to the information, the government is going to appoint administrators in the gram sabhas of the state and this time only the existing heads can be given this responsibility. If this happens then the village heads will continue to monitor the development works of the villages till the Panchayat elections are held. Enthusiasm is being seen among the heads of the state regarding this decision.

Tenure ending on 26th May

The tenure of the village heads of the state is ending on 26th May. After the end of their tenure, the powers of the heads generally end. Till now, in such a situation, the ADO Panchayat was made the administrator, who used to take charge of the work of the Panchayat. But this time the government seems to be preparing to make changes in the old system.

Development work of villages will continue

If village heads are made administrators then there will be no hindrance in the ongoing schemes and development works in the villages. The work of roads, water, sanitation, housing and other schemes will continue as before. The government believes that this step may be necessary to keep the administrative system strong at the Panchayat level.

Experiments have already been done in other states

In states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand, village heads have already been given the responsibility as administrators. Now Uttar Pradesh government also seems to be moving forward on this model. If the decision is implemented, more than 57 thousand village heads of the state will get direct benefits from it.
