Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated various development schemes related to education, youth empowerment and public facilities at the development block office complex in Khatima. Inaugurating the projects prepared at a cost of about Rs 89 lakh, he said that the state government is continuously striving for a bright future of the youth, quality education and building a healthy society.

Opening of new facilities

On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the modern “Didi’s Library” built at a cost of Rs 55 lakh, the Gymnasium renovated at a cost of Rs 7.50 lakh and the Block Auditorium modernized at a cost of Rs 26.50 lakh. He said that these facilities will prove to be extremely beneficial for the students, youth and general public and will create new possibilities in the development of education.

Importance of Didi’s Library

Chief Minister Dhami said that education is the basis of progress of any society. Didi’s library established in Khatima will become an important center of knowledge for students and youth preparing for competitive examinations. This library will provide calm and conducive study environment to the students, enabling them to achieve their goals.


Steps towards women empowerment

He said that talented students from rural areas were often deprived of quality studies due to lack of resources. The new library will prove to be a boon for such students. The study material available here will give the youth the opportunity to prepare better for competitive examinations and higher education. This library will not just be a collection of books, but will become a powerful medium to realize the dreams of the youth.

Emphasis on health and fitness

The Chief Minister also described the renovation of the gymnasium as important for the youth. He said that a healthy mind resides only in a healthy body. The gymnasium equipped with modern equipment will help in making the youth fitness and health conscious.

Chief Minister Dhami said that the state government is working equally in the fields of education, health, sports, employment and infrastructure, so that the benefits of development reach every section of the society. Khatima being his home area is the center of his commitment towards development.
