After this, there was an increase of 90 paise per liter on May 19. On May 23, petrol became costlier by 87 paise and diesel by 91 paise per litre.
According to experts, pressure on oil companies has increased due to high global crude oil prices, fluctuations in currency exchange rates and ongoing tension in West Asia. Continuously rising fuel prices may impact transportation and logistics costs, which is expected to increase retail inflation and additional burden on household budgets.
