Ferrari’s first electric car is caught in controversy, what are the features of the car and what is the range
- The Ferrari brand’s first electric car
- Farrari’s electric car is involved in controversy
- What exactly is the case
Italian sports car company Ferrari has introduced its first fully electric car, the ‘Luce’. The car is the talk of the town for its powerful 1000bhp and four electric motors, but the real controversy revolves around its design. While Ferrari has always been known for its low-slung, sleek and sporty cars, the new Luce is presented as a large SUV. That’s why many people don’t think it’s a normal Ferrari.
Luce’s design feels quite unique and experimental. The car’s body shape resembles a cab-forward SUV, and its rear-opening doors make it even more distinctive. This design has been done by the agency of former Apple designer Sir Jony Ive. This is why many people think that this car is like a fictional Apple car, only with a Ferrari logo on it. Compared to the Ferrari Purosanguay, the Luce does not look as attractive and sporty.

Ferrari Luce: Performance
Ferrari The Luce is fitted with four electric motors, one at each wheel—with a combined output of 1,035.27 bhp. Ferrari claims that in ‘Launch Control’ mode, the electric vehicle (EV)’s torque reaches 11,500 Nm. This vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The top speed of this EV is more than 310 km/h.
This arrangement of four motors allows Ferrari to control torque to each wheel independently; This improves vehicle stability, cornering accuracy and traction during hard acceleration and high speed driving. The Luce features ‘rear-wheel steering’ and an ‘active suspension system’, borrowed from the Ferrari F80 hypercar.
Car interior and wheelbase
The interior of the car is said to be very luxurious and attractive. It is reminiscent of earlier Ferrari models. Slim steering wheel, physical buttons and retro styling make this car unique. The long wheelbase offers plenty of space and is Ferrari’s first true 5-seater electric car. This means, this car can be quite practical in terms of luxury and space.

What is the range of this electric car?
In terms of range, the Luce can travel approximately 531 kilometers on a single charge, but considering today’s EV market, this figure is not considered too impressive. Meanwhile, companies such as Lamborghini have scrapped plans for electric supercars, making Ferrari’s move seen as both significant and risky.
In that case, it can be said that the Ferrari Luce has become a car that has divided people into two groups. While some consider it the Ferrari of the future, many feel that it has strayed too far from the company’s traditional identity. Currently, it is certain that it has become one of Ferrari’s most controversial cars to date.
