Light rain with lightning has been predicted in parts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts.
The heat has been showing its wrath in Uttarakhand for the last few days. The bright sun and scorching heat are scorching. The situation was such that after last Sunday, the maximum temperature of Doon remained above 40 degrees Celsius on Monday also, due to which people had to face the scorching heat and hot winds. Heat like conditions persisted during the day as well as in the evening.
If we look at the data, the maximum temperature of Doon on Sunday was recorded at 40.4 degrees Celsius, five degrees more than normal. This figure remained the same on Monday due to which people had to face severe heat throughout the day. Since morning, the scorching sun and strong hot winds made people miserable. The situation was such that there was silence on the streets in the afternoon.
The effect of heat was not limited only to the day, but heat wave-like winds continued to blow in the evening also. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, there is currently no possibility of getting relief from the heat in the coming days. The temperature is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. In such a situation, it has been advised to take precautions to avoid heat wave. Doctors have advised people not to go out unnecessarily during the afternoon, drink enough water and wear light clothes. At the same time, it has been asked to take special care of children and the elderly.
Light rain expected in the mountains
There are chances of light rain in the hilly districts of the state. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, light rain with lightning has been predicted in some parts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. On the other hand, hot winds can cause trouble in the hilly areas adjacent to the plains. Talking about the coming days, there is a possibility of light rain in the higher reaches of the state till May 31. Whereas in the plains there is no sign of relief for the next three-four days.
