Rajasthan Royals deletes Arjun Kapoor meme after backlash

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor has found himself at the centre of another social media storm, but this time for a matter many didn’t expect.

Online claims recently suggested that the 40-year-old actor had filed a defamation case against IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals after the team allegedly used his image in a meme aimed at trolling Punjab Kings over the IPL 2026 playoff race.

The meme quickly spread online and also brought criticism, with many users questioning whether celebrities’ images can be freely used for jokes and viral posts without consent.

But despite the noise online, there is still no official proof that the Ishaqzaade star has taken legal action.

Neither the actor nor his team has confirmed any lawsuit.

There are also no verified court records or reports showing that he approached the Delhi High Court over the issue.

The only confirmed development so far is that Rajasthan Royals deleted the post after backlash grew online.

The controversy has become more interesting because earlier this year, the Delhi High Court had already granted interim protection to Arjun Kapoor’s personality and publicity rights.

The order restricted unauthorised use of his image, voice and likeness, especially in deepfakes and misleading digital content.

At the same time, the court also noted that satire and public commentary cannot be completely stopped.
