Big revelation in Twisha Sharma case, injury marks found in postmortem report, CBI seeks custody of Giribala Singh from HC.
Madhya Pradesh: The investigation into Bhopal’s Twisha Sharma death case is continuously deepening. In this high-profile case, the Central Bureau of Investigation has now made a big claim in the High Court and stated the need for custodial interrogation of the accused mother-in-law Giribala Singh. Besides, the investigating agency has also raised the demand for cancellation of his bail.
During the hearing of the case, the state government also shared important information in the court regarding the postmortem report and injury marks found on the body of Twisha Sharma. The government side told the court that many such injuries were found on the body, which were caused before death and could point towards some fight or scuffle.
Important information revealed in postmortem report
During the hearing in the High Court, the government lawyer told that injury marks were found on many parts of Twisha Sharma’s body including wrist, elbow, head. During this, the court questioned whether these injuries were before death? On this, the state government clearly said that according to the postmortem report, some of the injuries were ante-mortem, that is, these injuries were caused before death. The government also said that these marks could neither have been made after death nor could have been made at the time of lowering the body. According to the government side, these injuries strengthen the possibility that they may have been caused during a struggle or scuffle.
Allegation of dowry demand in sister’s statement
The state government also read out the statement of Twisha Sharma’s sister in the court. According to the statement, Twisha’s mother-in-law Giribala Singh had called her to her house and demanded Rs 2 lakh. The court was also told that Twisha was told that her family did not spend enough on the wedding. Serious allegations of dowry harassment have been made in the case.
FIR registered against husband and mother-in-law
Police have registered an FIR in this case under sections 80(2), 85 and 3(5) of the Indian Judicial Code along with relevant sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Twisha Sharma’s husband Samarth Singh and her mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh have been named in the FIR.
The defense claimed cooperation in the investigation
During the hearing in the High Court, Giribala Singh’s lawyer also presented his arguments. He told the court that Twisha was rushed to AIIMS Bhopal within 20 minutes of being found hanging. The lawyer said that the entire premises had been sealed by the police since the morning of May 13. He also told that Giribala Singh himself had signed the seizure memo. The defense said in the court, they cannot say that I did not comply with the notice. I was available to him the whole day.
Dispute between both sides regarding notice
The defense claimed that they had not received any notice on May 14. The state government told the court that notices were sent to Giribala Singh on May 13 and 14, but when the police reached her house, she was not present there. The government said that while granting bail, the court had imposed conditions like cooperating in the investigation and not tampering with the evidence.
Questions raised on Giribala Singh’s attitude
The state government also said in the court that Giribala Singh’s attitude raises many questions. According to the government side, he had made many baseless allegations against Twisha Sharma. At present, the hearing of the case is going on in the High Court and CBI is investigating the entire matter in depth.
