Bangladesh’s ‘Donald Trump’ will no longer be sacrificed, finds new home in Dhaka’s National Zoo

This time in Bangladesh, on the occasion of Bakrid, a decision was taken which has surprised everyone. The sacrifice of a unique white buffalo, which has created a sensation on social media and has a hairstyle similar to that of the US President, whom people have named ‘Donald Trump’, was stopped at the last moment. The popularity of this buffalo, weighing about 700 kg, had increased so much that the government itself had to intervene. After the order of the Home Ministry, this rare creature has now been saved from being cut and sent safely to the National Zoo in Dhaka.

Actually, this whole matter is of Keraniganj area near Dhaka. Generally only black colored buffaloes are seen in Bangladesh, but the color of this albino (white) buffalo is absolutely milky white. The funniest thing is that it has a bunch of golden hair on its head, which is exactly similar to the signature hairstyle of former US President Donald Trump. For this reason, local people and social media influencers named it ‘Donald Trump’.

When it went viral on social media, there was a queue of buyers

Ahead of the festival, pictures and videos of this unique white buffalo spread like wildfire on the internet. Within no time a crowd of people gathered at the farm. Children, youth and family members started coming from far and wide just to take selfies and make reels with this buffalo. Meanwhile, a buyer had bought it for sacrifice by paying a huge amount. But as the reels and videos of ‘Donald Trump’ went viral, the administration’s concerns began to increase. Seeing the uncontrolled crowd at the farm and security reasons, the Animal Husbandry Department contacted the police, after which the government took a historic decision to stop its sacrifice.

Buyer’s money returned from government treasury

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed himself instructed the officials to keep this rare animal safe at all costs. According to Keraniganj Police Station officer Mohammad Ruhul Quddus, the government has taken this step keeping in mind the animal welfare and rarity of the creature. The administration has made it clear that the person who had bought this buffalo for sacrifice will be refunded his entire amount from the government fund so that no one suffers any loss. Experts believe that this white buffalo is still very young and can live for many years, in such a situation it would not be right to kill it.

Now National Zoo becomes new home, 2 weeks quarantine

Now this star buffalo named ‘Donald Trump’ is enjoying VIP treatment at the National Zoo in Dhaka. The zoo administration has prepared a separate and bigger enclosure for this special guest. Zoo curator Atiqur Rahman said that the buffalo has currently been kept under the observation and quarantine of special doctors for two weeks so that it can adapt to the new environment. Caretakers have been specially deployed to look after it. After completion of two weeks, it will be opened for the general public.

Experts say that albino i.e. white buffaloes are very rare in Bangladesh. In such a situation, the different color of this creature and the golden hair on its head will forever remain a big center of attraction for the tourists visiting the zoo.
