Question on RG car and corruption
Sen wrote in the letter that issues like RG car case, Abhaya case and bribe in exchange for job have driven the general public away from the party. He said that he has been working for the party for a long time and has defended the party despite disagreements many times, but now he cannot support the party due to these serious issues. Shantanu Sen wrote, “In the present circumstances, I am not ready to defend the party as a spokesperson.”
Growing rebellion in the party
Shantanu Sen’s resignation further highlights the internal dissatisfaction in TMC. After the election defeat, many leaders are openly expressing their disagreement. Leaders like Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar have also resigned from all party posts.
Dastidar had recently participated in the meeting of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, due to which resentment increased in the party. He has also accused TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee of abusing.
Doctor turned leader Shantanu Sen
Shantanu Sen was originally a doctor and later came into politics. He fought for TMC for a long time and also served as a councilor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. His resignation can become a new challenge for the party. With the resignation of Shantanu Sen, the number of dissatisfied leaders in TMC has increased. The party is now trying to resolve these issues.
