Siddaramaiah Resignation: “I got a chance to serve seven crore people of Karnataka. I got a chance to be Chief Minister twice and Leader of Opposition twice. I am indebted to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge for this,” said Congress leader Siddaramaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, Siddaramaiah thanked Congress workers, MLAs and MPs including former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for their support since joining the party in 2006.

While referring to his tenure, Siddaramaiah also criticized the opposition. He said that wrong information was spread that the Congress government’s guarantee schemes would empty the state exchequer. This time, he indirectly targeted the opposition parties including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing them of trying to create confusion among the people about the plans of the Congress.
