Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Spotted Testing Alongside The Current Generation Model [Video]
Hyundai is aggressively testing the new Creta in India, and we have seen several images and videos of the same online. We have now come across a new video where the next-generation Creta is spotted right next to the outgoing model. The video clearly shows the size difference between the two generations.
The video has been shared by carindianews on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a heavily camouflaged Hyundai Creta SUV being driven on a broken road. It looks like the video was shot somewhere in the mountains. We see several Maruti Jimny SUVs and Alto hatchbacks parked next to the road, which confirms the same.
It looks like the traffic on the road is moving slowly, and the Hyundai Creta’s driver saw a gap on the left. He drove the car through the gap and finally slowed down right next to another Hyundai Creta. This is the pre-facelift version of the current-generation Creta SUV. When the car pulls right next to the current-gen Creta, you realise that the upcoming Creta is going to be wider and longer than the older version. However, it feels like the current version is slightly taller than the upcoming version.
The upcoming Creta looks bigger in size because it is now based on the K3 platform. This means the new Creta is going to be ready to score a 5-star rating at Bharat NCAP. These are just assumptions based on the video here. In the video, we see the panoramic sunroof, Kia-styled dual-tone alloy wheels, clear-lens pixel-type LED tail lamps, split headlamps, and the wide-open grille on the SUV. The wheelbase of the next-generation Creta is also expected to be longer than the current-generation model.
The Hyundai Creta is expected to get an exterior design inspired by the Cratos concept. It is expected to get an almost vertical front-end with a connected horizon LED bar, split headlamps, a faux skid plate, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more.
The SUV would also come with a completely redesigned cabin. The major attraction here would be the Pleos screen. There would be a large floating touchscreen infotainment system and a slim driver display. The upcoming SUV will come with a decent number of features like electric seats with memory and welcome functions, seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, leatherette upholstery, automatic headlamps, wipers, and more.
The SUV will be offered with 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine options. Hyundai is also working on a hybrid engine specifically for the Indian market. It will be based on the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine. This would be a strong hybrid system that would give Creta owners a balance between performance and efficiency.
The new hybrid engine will debut with the Creta and will be offered in other Hyundai and Kia models. The exact power and torque figures of the new-generation Creta’s hybrid engine are not known at the moment. Hyundai is testing the Creta SUV in full swing, and it is expected to be launched in the market in the first quarter of 2027.
