A youth was seriously injured in the early morning firing in Jharia area of Dhanbad. In the initial investigation, the incident is being linked to illegal iron cutting and fight for supremacy. The police is investigating the case.
Dhanbad: The firing in Jorapokhar police station area of Jharia in the early hours of Friday spread panic in the area. A young man was seriously injured in the firing incident, whose bullet got stuck in his chest. Police have collected evidence from the spot and started investigation and it is suspected that enmity related to illegal iron business may be the reason behind the incident.
Panic spread in the area due to early morning firing
People were frightened by the sound of gunshots at around 4 am on Friday morning in Jamadoba Dumri No. 2 street of Jorapokhar police station area in Jharia of Dhanbad district. According to eyewitnesses, there was rapid firing in the area, during which a young man was seriously injured by the bullet.
The injured youth has been identified as Rikki Singh. The bullet hit him in the chest and got stuck inside the body. After being shot, he fell on the spot. Local people and family members immediately took him to the hospital, where after first aid, he was referred to Durgapur for better treatment.
Important clues found from the spot
As soon as information about the incident was received, Jorapokhar police station reached the spot and started investigation. Police officials inspected the spot and recovered bullet casings and cut rope wire from there.
Investigating officials believe that the recovered material can play an important role in understanding the reasons behind the incident. Police are also scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby so that the attackers can be identified and the entire sequence of the incident can be brought to light.
Fear of dispute over illegal iron cutting
The family of the injured youth has expressed suspicion of an old dispute behind the incident. According to family members, there was a situation of tension in the area for a long time regarding illegal iron cutting and related business. Due to this enmity, the possibility of firing incident is being expressed.
The police is also investigating in the same direction in the preliminary investigation. Officials say the matter could be related to illegal iron cutting, theft, loading dispute or a fight for mutual supremacy. However, the real reasons for the incident can be confirmed only after the investigation is completed.

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, senior police officers also reached the spot. Officials have instructed the investigation team to conduct an in-depth investigation on all possible aspects. Along with technical evidence, local people are also being interrogated.
