Company’s official statement

“Incorporating direct Type-C charging into smartwatches is a big step forward for the Indian wearable industry. Our aim is to simplify the everyday experience for users so that they don’t have to carry a separate charger for each device.”
— boAt spokesperson, official launch event

Its effect on common users: The hassle of separate charger will end.

Often, when the magnetic or dock charger provided with the smartwatch gets lost or damaged, users face a lot of trouble in finding a new charger. An extra cable had to be carried even during travel. After this step by boAt, now this watch can be powered from any common Type-C smartphone charger present at home or office. This technology can set a new standard in the affordable smartwatch segment in the future.
